Olivier is a gourmet, and wants to have a special wine to go with his special meals. He usually buys his wine locally. Uh-oh, out of stock! No problem: this time he’s going to order straight from the producer. He wonders if it's possible to ship wine with Colissimo…

Bottles of wine, champagne, vinegar, olive oil, Whisky, paint, household products… Here, too, packaging is key, because goods like this are often heavy, fragile, and sometimes even inflammable. Breakage is the main problem.

When products like this break, not only does your customer not receive the order, but the parcel becomes soaked: the shipping labels can become unusable, the packaging fragile and the goods inside damaged. Liquid can also splash around the logistics site, causing work accidents and machine stoppages.

Furthermore, Colissimo and La Poste are unable to transport liquids that are dangerous and can catch fire.

Our recommendation for wines & spirits:

First make sure we can accept the liquid you need to ship with us, by checking the page on prohibited and dangerous goods. You can also ask your sales contact to study your need.

Finally, with your supplier, choose dedicated packaging capable of transporting 1, 3 or 6 bottles. Ensure it is thick enough to be durable and has an integrated system for keeping the bottles in place. Unfortunately, just using a box and adding padding is not enough.

The box has to have been designed for the size of the product being shipped, with empty space limited using an appropriate means of keeping each bottle in place and separated so they don't bump into each other. Also make sure you properly protect the bottle if only one is being shipped.
