The bulky parcel

Jeremy regularly buys things on the Internet, but this time he’s not sure. Can a really big parcel be delivered? Like a car door, for example…

Car doors, big suitcases, mattresses, rugs… Colissimo can deliver almost anything. Almost… because above a certain size: L+W+H ≤ 150cm or L≤ 100cm: the parcel requires manual processing, as it cannot be placed on the sorting machine conveyor; it could fall, jam the machine or, worse yet, suffer damage, leading not only to delivery delays for your parcel, but also for others.

You should know that La Poste operators put every ‘bulky’ parcel aside when it is unloaded from the shipping trailer. These parcels are then placed on a trolley and processed manually at the “non-machinable” site, and manually sorted before being placed on the right lorry on time.

There is some flexibility, and we can ship parcels that are up to 200 cm along the longest axis (L=W+H) and then a surcharge will apply to the initial postage.

Our recommendation for the perfect bulky parcel:

Unfortunately, we don’t yet know how to ship really, really big parcels, even though our machines are also really, really big, nor can we handle very heavy parcels that weigh more than 30 kg, because our postmen and deliverymen do their rounds on their own, and we really care about them.

But we’re sure you can find a solution with someone who specialises in shipments of that sort.
