The flexible pouch

Olivier collects shirts, but not the ones his wife would like him to wear. For their wedding anniversary, Olivier has decided to surprise Marion, and has ordered a new shirt, but…

The flexible pouch format is ideal in several ways. It lets you ship all types of non-fragile merchandise (clothing, school supplies, etc.) while limiting extra space and maximising the possibility of delivering your online customers’ goods straight to their personal letter box.

The label is often a problem with this sort of packaging, though. Basically, the type of merchandise being shipped affects the shape of the parcel, and thus the label. The label can no longer be completely flat and, worse, sometimes it gets creased. It can become impossible for the automatic optical readers in our sorting machines to read the essential shipping information, so manual intervention is needed, which can lead to delays.

In the same way, if the label is slipped into a transparent plastic pocket for protection, the machines may not be able to read it. On paper it's a good idea, as it protects against possible damage from rain or spills, but, again, the optical leaders in the machines are highly sensitive to reflections and contrast. They can't read the information because of the background lighting, so human intervention is once again needed.

Our recommendation for the perfect flexible pouch:

Pick a pouch format that corresponds to the size of the product you are shipping so the label doesn’t crease. If you are shipping a product that isn’t flat (like a pencil holder), position the label so the product doesn't create volume on the label.

Note: transparent plastic pouches on merchandise being shipped abroad and to French overseas departments must ONLY contain customs documents when customs has not yet been cleared.
