Responsible Digital label

Description

Digital is everywhere. It transforms our professions, our uses, our daily lives. But behind its promises of agility and performance there are also very real impacts.
Water and energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, extraction of rare resources… Digital technology is neither immaterial nor neutral. It weighs on the environment, on resources, on balance, and already accounts for 3 to 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and 4.4% of the national carbon footprint  (ARCEP 2023 ). This footprint continues to grow every day.

Label numérique responsable

As a leader in home parcel delivery, Colissimo has been taking action for over 20 years to reduce carbon emissions linked to parcel transport, with tangible results.

Today, we are continuing our commitment and acting for responsible digital technology. Because it is our duty to build it, step by step, in line with our commitment to a sustainable e-commerce sector.

A new step towards a more sustainable and ethical digital environment

At Colissimo, commitment to responsible digital technology is not just a promise: it is a course of action. A course we are taking in 2025 with pride, by obtaining the Level 2 Responsible Digital label, awarded by the Institut du Numérique Responsable and the Lucie agency.

A demanding recognition, highlighting the concrete efforts made over several years to reduce the footprint of our digital services.

A demanding process, a rigorous audit

Obtaining this label is not just a stamp of approval. It is the result of a rigorous audit, covering our entire digital ecosystem: websites, Colissimo modules on CMS platforms, internal tools, IT infrastructure… but also governance, procurement, CSR management and employee awareness.

The Responsible Digital label assesses organisations according to three main pillars:

  • The environmental sustainability of digital services
  • Digital inclusion of users, through accessible interfaces and a shared culture
  • The ethics of digital technology, through clear, transparent and responsible governance

What does it change? Concrete actions, every day

This Level 2 label, awarded for 3 years, highlights actions already in place or being strengthened:

  • Eco-design of our digital services, with redesigns focused on performance, accessibility and sustainability
  • Training technical and business teams on the challenges of responsible digital technology
  • Integrating social and environmental criteria into our IT procurement and digital projects
  • Guaranteeing the security and confidentiality of our customers’ data within our sovereign infrastructures
  • Implementing an accessibility strategy for our interfaces, for the benefit of all users

Each step is designed to reduce the impact of our digital services, while ensuring a smooth, inclusive and useful experience.

A collective path, aligned with our mission

This collective effort is carried out by all the departments of the Colissimo and International Business Unit (IT Department, Marketing Department, Finance Department, Operations Department, etc.). It illustrates our determination to align our technological choices with our objectives: to simplify the lives of all our customers (senders and recipients), while taking care of people and the environment.

Level 2 is not an end, it is a springboard.
We are going further by deepening the measurement of our impacts, further involving all our partners in this approach, and continuing our digital transformation with responsibility, high standards and openness, with specific objectives and use cases.

Numérique responsable éthique
Description

Ethics: integrating eco-design criteria from the design phase of our IT architectures and in our procurement.
This involves concrete objectives, such as obtaining an Eco-Score A for our customer site, Colissimo Box, but also through the responsible and ethical use of technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.

Numérique responsable inclusion
Description

Inclusion: developing digital services accessible to all, whatever the users’ situation or capabilities. The Colissimo Box website currently meets nearly half of the RGAA criteria, and we aim for progressive compliance across all our services.
This commitment is supported by a training component: our employees are made aware of responsible digital technology, and new modules are now integrated into internal training paths.
Our ambition: to also involve our partners and customers in this inclusive approach.

Numérique responsable frugalité
Description

Frugality: adopting a sustainable approach in the use and management of our digital tools. This means reasonable use of resources, reusing IT equipment (such as servers for non-critical environments), and actively measuring our energy consumption (data centres, platforms, offices and delivery sites). We also aim to extend the lifespan of our IT equipment whenever possible.
